1. (c) New Delhi
The International Conference on Unani Medicine was held in New Delhi. It was organised by Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), under Ministry of AYUSH as a part of celebration of Unani Day on February 11. The theme of the conference was Integration of Unani System of Medicine in main stream healthcare.
2. (b) Uttar Pradesh
The state government of Uttar Pradesh has launched massive door to door ‘DASTAK campaign against Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) and Japanise Encephalitis (JE)’ to eradicate deadly diseases from the state. It was launched in association with UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund).

Tanzania has announced its withdrawal of United Nation’s “Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework” citing security reasons and lack of funds. Tanzania has long been considered as safe haven for refugees, particularly from conflict hit Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Burundi.

Scientists in Kolkata came together on February 12, 2018 to observe the ‘Darwin Week’ to effectively put an end to any confusion regarding his ‘Theory of Evolution’. The week will be celebrated from February 12 to February 18.

Enraged by recent comments over a well-established scientific theory- Darwin’s theory of evolution, the scientific community of India, especially Kolkatta decided to come together and hold the ‘Darwin Week’ to remove any doubts planted in the minds of the people that the theory may be wrong.

Parbati Ghose, the first female filmmaker of Odisha passed away recently following a prolonged illness in Bhubaneswar at the age of 85. Ghose was declared dead when she was rushed to the hospital around midnight after complaining of uneasiness.

The Bihar government banned the sale of loose cigarettes in the state. According to a survey, eighty per cent people use loose cigarettes. The Survey says that 54 per cent adults in Bihar use tobacco products and 9 per cent of them are smokers.

Rohan More became the first Asian as well as the first Indian to swim across the Ocean Seven. He is also the youngest person in the world to do so. Moreover, he has become the ninth person in the world to have completed the Ocean Seven challenge.

Dubai announced the opening of the world's new tallest hotel Gevora, a 75-storey hotel that stands 356 metres tall. This makes it a metre taller than the previous holder of the title, the JW Marriott Marquis.
10. (d) Ahmedabad
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the Centre for learning Sanskrit language at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. The first-of-its-kind spoken Sanskrit centre will offer a six-month course for people on how to speak the language.

The World Radio Day was observed on February 13, 2018 with the theme 'Radio and Sports'. The Day aims to raise greater awareness among the public and the media about the importance of radio; to encourage decision makers to establish and provide access to information through radio; as well as to enhance networking and international cooperation among broadcasters.

Dun & Bradstreet, a leading provider of international and Indian business information, on February 12, 2018 released the 'Port Logistics: Issues & Challenges in India’ report and handed it over to Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Suresh Prabhu. The report looks into various roadblocks and suggests policy recommendations to resolve the challenges across ports in India.
