India’s first National Institute of Inter-Faith Studies will be set up by in Punjab to promote brotherhood and diversity as part of the year-long activities to commemorate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak, for which the state Government will provide land free of cost.

After the 182-meter tall `Statue of Unity' of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Sanghakaya Foundation, a non-profit Buddhist organisation on November 22, 2018 demanded land from the government for installing an 80-feet high statue of Lord Buddha in Gandhinagar district of Gujarat.

In Madhya Pradesh, Pregnant women will not have to stand in queue to vote in assembly election. Understanding the physical problems of such women, the Election Commission is allowing them to vote without standing in line. According to Chief Election Officer of Madhya Pradesh, these women will have to register themselves in the Sugamya portal designed by state election commission.

Nepal's largest exhibition on construction equipment and technology "ConMac 2018" started in Bhaktapur near Kathmandu on November 22, 2018. The second edition of the India-UAE Strategic Conclave will be held in capital city of Abu Dhabi on November 27, 2018. Indian classical music stalwart Ustad Imrat Khan, who dedicated his life to propagating the Sitar and the surbahar worldwide, passed away in the United States on November 22, 2018 after a brief illness. He was 83. Imrat Khan had famously turned down the Padma Shri in 2017 saying that the recognition had come too late and diminished his achievements.

Popular singer Nahid Afrin of Assam has been appointed as the first 'Youth Advocate' of the northeastern region by the UNICEF to fight for child rights. The UNICEF engages 'Youth Advocates' to harness their voice as agents of change in society. Nahid made her playback debut in the 2016 Bollywood film 'Akira' starring Sonakshi Sinha in the lead. She received the best female playback singer award at the Assam state Film Award 2018.

The population of China’s capital, Beijing, declined for the first time in two decades in 2017. The number of permanent residents reached 21.707 million in 2017, which is 22,000 fewer than 2016. The number of people in the city’s six urban districts has declined by 3 percent.

Andhra Pradesh on November 20, 2018 launched a web portal that will make land records available to people with unique identification numbers just like Aadhar number. The “Bhudaar’’ is an 11-digit unique identification code assigned to each agriculture land holding and rural and urban properties in the state.
