1. (a) Indian Ocean Rim Association
The Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) signed a MoU with the Regional Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (RCSTT) of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) for designating Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow (CSIR-CIMAP) as Coordinating Centre on Medicinal Plants.
2. (b) Rajasthan
Uma Bharti, the Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, launched the 2nd project of Swajal Yojana at village Bhikampura, Karauli, Rajasthan with a budget of more than Rs 54.17 lakh.
3. (c) Russia
Russia vetoed a UN draft resolution presented by Britain that would have pressured Iran over its failure to block supplies of missiles to Yemen’s Huthi rebels. The text, strongly supported by the United States, won 11 favorable votes at the 15-member Security Council but was blocked by Russia’s veto.
4. (d) IIT Chennai
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, on February 26, 2018 laid the foundation stone for setting up of a National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts (NTCPWC) at IIT Chennai. NTCPWC will be set up under the Union Shipping Ministry’s flagship 'Sagarmala Programme '.

The National Science Day 2018 was observed across India on February 28, 2018. This year celebrations of the Day were organised by the Department of Science & Technology (DST). The theme of National Science Day 2018 is 'Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future'. The theme aims to raise public appreciation of the scientific issues.

China was elected as Vice President of Financial Action Task Force (FATF). FATF, created in 1997, is a global body which is mandated to combat terror financing and money laundering.
7. (b) Arunachal Pradesh
Union Rural Development Ministry has sanctioned more than Rs. 700 crore for 43 roads and 15 bridges under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for Arunachal Pradesh. A total of 685 KM of roads and 577 metres of bridges will be constructed out of the sanctioned amount.
8. (d) Tez
Users of Google’s Tez mobile payment application will soon be able to load their cards and enable ‘tap and pay’ option. The app basically facilitates account-to-account payments using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) platform.
9. (c) Dhanush
India on February 23, 2018 test-fired the surface-to-surface Dhanush ballistic missile from a naval ship off Odisha’s coast. The nuclear-capable missile with a strike range of 350 km is a naval variant of the indigenously-developed Prithvi-II missile. It was test-fired from a naval warship positioned near Paradip in the Bay of Bengal.
10. (d) Bihar
The Union Government has signed a $84 million loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to improve and expand the water supply in Bhagalpur and Gaya towns of Bihar. The project will improve access to better quality and sustainable water supply for the people in the state’s Bhagalpur and Gaya towns.
11. (b) Narendra Modi
The Tamil Nadu government’s Amma two-wheeler scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Chennai on February 24, 2018, on the occasion of the state’s late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's birth anniversary. The scheme mainly aims at providing 50 percent subsidy to all the working women to buy two-wheelers. It was a pet project of Jayalalithaa.
12. (a) Blue
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a blue coloured 'Baal Aadhaar' card for children below the age of five years. The card will be issued to children in the age group without any biometric details but they will be required to complete a mandatory verification process when they turn five and then again when they are 15 years old.
