Union Minister of RT & H inaugurated Electric passenger bus

Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways R. Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated electric passenger bus with zero emission level in Bangalore.

Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways (RT&H) R. Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated an electric passenger bus in Bangalore on 27 February 2014. This bus is a first of its kind in India and has zero emission level.

It is an initiative of Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Cooperation (BMTC) with the coordination of Utopia. Initially for trial runs the bus will be used between Kempe Gowda and Kadugodi for 3 months.

Main Features of the Bus
• Eco friendly with zero emission level.
• It has capacity of 31 seats.
• It has a range of 250 km.
• Battery management designed to monitor the temperature and voltage of electric cells to ensure safety.
