The Union Cabinet has approved the PM E-Drive Scheme, under which a provision of Rs 10,900 crore has been made in the next two years. The aim of this scheme is to make electric vehicles more accessible and strengthen the charging infrastructure. Under this scheme, a subsidy of Rs 3,679 crore will be given for battery-operated two and three-wheelers, ambulances, trucks and other emerging EVs.

Recently the Governor of Maharashtra C.P. Radhakrishnan said that a tribal university with 80 per cent reservation for students from tribal communities will be established in Nashik. The Governor met local representatives of various political parties during his Nashik visit.

Senior CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury (Sitaram Yechury Passes Away) passed away at the age of 72. Sitaram Yechury started his journey in CPM as a student leader about 50 years ago. Yechury also played an important role in coalition formation for the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in 2004.
