Gary Oldman won the Oscar award for ‘Best Actor’ for his performance as Winston Churchill in the Second World War drama Darkest Hour. The actor, who had been considered the strong favourite in the category, overcame competition from fellow British nominees Daniel Kaluuya and Daniel Day-Lewis to take home the prize.

Noted Indian architect & urban planner Balkrishna Doshi won the prestigious 2018 Pritzker Architecture Prize for being able to interpret architecture and transform it into buildings that respect Eastern culture. He is the first Indian architect to be awarded the prize.

The RBI has tightened the priority sector lending (PSL) norms for foreign banks by directing them to mandatorily create sub-targets so that they lend a portion of their loans to small and marginal farmers as well as micro enterprises from April 2018.
