The 2021 Kerala Legislative Assembly election resulted in a historic victory for the Left Democratic Front (LDF), which retained power by winning 99 seats, 8 more than the previous election. This was the first time since 1977 that an alliance won consecutive terms in Kerala. The United Democratic Front (UDF) secured 41 seats, which was 6 fewer than last time. Meanwhile, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) saw a decline in vote share and lost its only seat.
