What are CJP's 3 Demands Ahead of Jantar Mantar 2.0 besides CEC Gyanesh Kuman Resignation?

The political atmosphere in New Delhi has turned tense as the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) issued a 48 hour deadline to Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar to put his resignation papers. 

Holding a joint press conference, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke alongside co convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka held a joint press conference on Spetember 24th 2026 and announced the Election Commission Thik Karo campaign. 

They also warned that if their three core demands are ignored, they will launch a nationwide agitation leading to a protest at Jantar Mantar.

What are CJP's 3 Demands Ahead of Jantar Mantar 2.0?

Public attention is majorly focused on the call for the CEC's removal or to say resignation. But the official social handles of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) includes three specific policy conditions to avoid another protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi:

1. CEC Resignation and Legal Probe

CJP’s very first demand is immediate resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar within 48 hours which must be followed by a formal inquiry into who authorised disputed administrative choices during voter roll updates.

2. Freeze on SIR and Rollback to January 2025 Lists

The second demand is stopping the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, freezing further exclusions, and restoring the voter list as it stood in January 2025 while the Supreme Court reviews the files.

3. Scrapping the 2023 Appointment Law

The third and final demand of CJP is repealing the Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners Act of 2023 and replacing it with a new process that includes input from civil society groups.

What are Internal CEC Objections and Growing Agitation? 

The issue escalated with claims made by two of the Election Commissioners, namely Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, who reportedly complained formally no less than 14 times over 10 months about issues related to SIR operations.

These complaints included issues of software automation, modifications of Form 6 declarations, and centralized access to the database of voters.

Dipke claimed that the trust of voters in the administration of the registration campaigns is decreasing. In addition, he said that unless the commission takes care of these administrative issues, then there will be an organized protest at Jantar Mantar as scheduled.

However, the representatives of the Election Commission said that routine checks are continuing in all the states. They mentioned that internal discussions are a part of every update of rolls.
