Parvesh Verma, born on 7th November 1977, is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was born to the late Sahib Singh Verma, a former Delhi Chief Minister. Parvesh Verma has had a successful career in politics, with wins in both the Delhi Legislative Assembly and the Lok Sabha. Most recently, Verma came into prominence for having beaten Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi Assembly constituency during the 2025 elections. Following this victory, he was elected as the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and took the oath of office on 20th February 2025.
Early Life and Education
Parvesh Verma was born to a Hindu Jat family. He studied at Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram. He then went to Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Verma went on to study further and acquired a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Fore School of Management. Verma's political family is quite active; his uncle, Azad Singh, was the mayor of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation and ran on a BJP ticket in 2013 from the Mundka constituency. Parvesh is wed to Swati Singh, daughter of former Union Minister and BJP Madhya Pradesh leader Vikram Verma.

Political Career
- Early Engagements
Verma entered political life from his role in the Delhi BJP Election Committee in 2013. While he had aspirations to fight the 2009 Lok Sabha elections from West Delhi, he was not provided a ticket.
- Entry into Legislative Politics
In 2013, Verma contested the Delhi Assembly Elections from the Mehrauli constituency. He won against Yoganand Shastri, who was then the Speaker of the Delhi Vidhan Sabha, and Narinder Singh Sejwal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
- Member of Parliament
He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the West Delhi constituency in 2014. He won a second term in 2019 by a record vote of over 5 lakh votes. As an MP, he was a member of the Joint Committee on Salaries and Allowances of Members of Parliament and the Standing Committee on Urban Development.
- Victory against Kejriwal
In the Delhi Assembly elections in 2025, Verma ran against Arvind Kejriwal in the constituency of New Delhi and won. This victory has put him on the list as a possible front-runner for the Chief Minister.
- 2025 Election Campaign
In the months running up to the 2025 polls, Verma started a campaign against the AAP government, pointing out grievances like pollution, women's safety, and the broken promise of cleaning the Yamuna River. His campaign, "Remove Kejriwal, Save the Nation," clicked with voters.

Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi
Following his significant win, Parvesh Verma was elected as the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi. He took the oath of office on 20th February 2025 in a grand ceremony. As Deputy CM, his primary focus is expected to be on governance reforms, infrastructure development, and addressing public concerns such as pollution control, law and order, and urban planning. His leadership and policy decisions will play a crucial role in shaping Delhi’s future.
