Project Timeline and Budget
The estimated cost for this mega project is around ₹24,948.65 crore. The DMRC has started different construction phases since the project was approved in March 2019. The recent months have seen significant progress. The priority corridors are expected to be completed by March 2026, though some estimates suggest that full operational status may extend up to 2028 due to various logistical challenges.
Connectivity Impact
Phase 4 is designed to address the last-mile connectivity issues faced by residents in newly developed housing areas across NCR. By linking major residential hubs with existing metro lines, it aims to facilitate smoother commutes and promote the use of public transportation over personal vehicles.
The new metro stations will not only ease traffic congestion but also contribute to reducing air pollution by encouraging more people to opt for metro travel instead of cars or buses.
The expansion of the Delhi Metro through Phase 4 represents a significant investment in urban infrastructure that promises to reshape the commuting landscape of Delhi and its neighbouring regions. As construction progresses and new stations are inaugurated, residents can look forward to enhanced mobility options that align with modern urban living standards.
