    Start-up India, Stand-up India action plan

    This is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, intended to build a strong ecosystem for nurturing innovation and Start-ups in the country. This will drive sustainable economic growth and generate large scale employment opportunities. The Government, through this initiative aims to empower Start-ups to grow through innovation and design.

    Setting up of the Bank Board Bureau

    Called of setting up of Bank Board Bureau (BBB) that will replace existing system Appointments Board in which appointments for top level jobs at PSBs are made by an appointments committee led by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor. Vinod Rai (former CAG) became the first chairman.

    Harsha Chawda-Shah, India’s First test tube baby became mother of son at the Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai.

    India’s sixth navigation satellite

    The ISRO successful puts into orbit India’s sixth navigation satellite i.e. IRNSS-1F from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.

    Punjab Sutlej Yamuna Link Canal (Rehabilitation and Re-vesting of Proprietary Rights ) Bills, 2016
