    The immense preponderance of Pakistani Punjabis dwelling in the productive regions of 4 out of 5 main rivers are Sunni Muslim by faith. It also includes a hefty minority groups mostly Ahmadi Muslim, Shia Muslims and Christians.


    Around 60 per cent of the Indian Punjab population is Sikh, 37 per cent is Hindu population and the remaining are the Muslims, the Christians, and the Jains.


    Yet, due to hefty scale immigration from the states of Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Odisha, the demographics of Punjab state of India have become more tilted than accounted previously. The Indian Punjab state encloses the holy city of Amritsar.
