The Parliament of India is comprises of the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha and President of India. The composition of the 17th Lok Sabha is in progress. Now the government is appointing the required officers to start the business of the house.

Political career of Virendra Kumar
Virendra Kumar started his career as a Convenor of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (A.B.V.P.) from District Sagar, Madhya Pradesh in 1977-79. Later he is Elected to 11th Lok Sabha from sagar constituency in 1996. He represented the Sagar constituency of Madhya Pradesh between 1996-2009.
Virendra Kumar is elected for the 17th Loksabha from Tikamgarh constituency in Madhya Pradesh.
He was Minister of State in the Ministry of Women and Child Development (headed by Maneka Gandhi) and MoS in the Minority Affairs Ministry in Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.
Who is Pro-tem Speaker?
Pro-tem Speaker is the temporary speaker who presides over the first meeting after the Geneal Election. The Speaker and the Deputy Speaker are selected by members of the Parliament is held under the Pro-tem Speaker.
The Speaker continues in office till immediately before the first meeting of Lok Sabha after dissolution of the one to which he/she was elected, unless he/she ceases to be a Member by any of the reasons specified in articles 94, 101 and 102 of the Constitution.
Usually, the senior-most member of the Lok Sabha is selected for the post of Pro-tem speaker who carries on work till the permanent speaker is chosen.
What are the Functions of the Pro-tem Speaker?
The main duty of the Pro-tem Speaker is to administer the oath of office to newly elected members of the Lok Sabha. He also enables the House to elect the new Speaker.
Once the new Speaker is elected, the tenure of the pro-tem speaker ceases to exist. He also administers the floor test.
