Who is Poonam Gupta? Married at Rashtrapati Bhavan

In a historic milestone, Poonam Gupta, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Assistant Commandant, is set to marry on February 12, 2025, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the official residence of the President of India.

Poonam Gupta is at present a PSO at Rashtrapati Bhavan and is highly appreciated for her outstanding service towards duty. She commanded an all-women contingent during the 74th Republic Day parade, which manifests the leadership spirit in her with respect to her duties and devotion towards public services. Her fiancé, Avnish Kumar, is an Assistant Commandant in CRPF and deputed in Jammu and Kashmir.

Poonam Gupta hails from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh. Poonam Gupta, an officer as dedicated as can be, has also been a brilliant academic. She holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, a master's degree in English Literature, and a Bachelor of Education (BEd) from Jiwaji University in Gwalior. Her commitment to her profession is evident from her impressive rank of 81st in the 2018 UPSC CAPF exam. Before her current role at Rashtrapati Bhavan, she served in challenging environments, including Naxal-affected areas of Bihar.

Poonam Gupta is also present on social media, including Instagram. She provides her followers with some insights about her work and inspires many, especially women, to achieve their objectives. This inspires many young aspiring officers and students.

Wedding Details

The wedding was a small, close-knit affair, with only close family and friends in attendance. Given the significance of the venue, all guests were subject to rigorous security screening.
