The second iteration of the Women’s Premier League (Cricket) commenced in February 2024, with a clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, marking the inaugural match of the tournament. The inaugural major women's Twenty20 competition in India commenced modestly as a single-match tournament in 2018. Evolving swiftly, it expanded into a three-team, three-match competition in subsequent years, notably in 2019, 2020, and 2022, marking significant growth and development within the realm of women's cricket in the nation.

RCB won the second edition defeating Delhi Capitals in the final of WPL 2024.
