CBSE gets New Chairman: IAS Vineet Joshi, who currently holds the Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education has been given the charge as the Chairman of CBSE - Central Board of Secondary Education. Ministry of Education issued official order confirming the appointment of IAS Vineet Joshi as the new chairman of the CBSE Board. Mr Joshi will replace IAS Manoj Ahuja for the top job at the Central Board. Mr Ahuja took over the chairmanship of CBSE on 12th May 2022. Prior to that, he also served as the Special Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.
Official Order Issued by Education Ministry
To confirm the development, the Ministry of Education’s Department of School Education and Literacy issued an official order. The order reads "Consequent upon relieving of Shri Manoj Ahuja, IAS(OR:1990) from the post of Chairman, CBSE w.e.f 14.02.2022 (A/N) vide office order dated 14.02.2022, the charge of Chairman, CBSE is assigned to Shri Vineet Joshi, Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education in addition to his existing assignments. This issues with the approval of the competent authority."
About CBSE’s New Chairman IAS Vineet Joshi
CBSE Board’s new chairman Mr Vineet Jain is an IAS officer, Manipur 1992 batch. He currently holds the position of Additional Secretary, Department of Higher Education. Prior to being CBSE Chairman, Mr Joshi was the governing body member of the National Testing Agency and has also worked as the Director of the apex testing agency. On the academic front, Mr Joshi holds an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from IIT Kanpur and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from IIFT. He received education in Annie Besant School, Allahabad, and GIC, Allahabad.
