DU Admissions 2020: Application Process for ECA Category to Begin from 1st Aug, Register, No Trials, Apply by 31st Aug @ du.ac.in

DU ECA Admissions 2020: As per the official notification released by the Delhi University, the varsity is all set to start the application process for ECA Admissions 2020 from 1st August 2020. The notification also confirmed that DU ECA Admissions 2020 will be accepted for over 14 ECA categories. Candidates can register or apply for the same until 31st August 2020. ECA Admissions Accepted under 14 Categories

Putting aside its earlier decision of doing away with Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) quota for 12 categories; the varsity has now formally notified that the ECA Admissions 2020 will be available to the students for 14 categories. These categories include Creative Writing, Dance, Debate, Digital Media, Fine Arts, Music (Vocal), Music (Instrumental Indian), Music (Instrumental Western), Theatre, Quiz, Divinity, NCC, NSS, Yoga.

No ECA Trials, Admissions Based on Certificates

Another important aspect that has been clarified in the official notification is about how ECA category admission process will be held without trials. For 2020 session, keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic, the varsity has decided to do away with ECA trials and instead Admissions under ECA will be done based on the Merit/ Participation certificates of the applicants. Candidates applying under ECA Category will be required to provide “Best Five certificates of preceding three years (May 1, 2017- April 30, 2020),” the university release mentioned. Candidates must note that they can apply for admission to DU only under any of the 3 out of total 14 categories.

Applications Process On until 31^st August 2020

As reported earlier, the admission process for Delhi University ECA Admissions 2020 will commence on 1^st August 2020 and will continue for the entire month and conclude on 31^st August 2020. For admissions through Delhi University Entrance Test, the application window remains unchanged, i.e. 31^st July 2020. DU applicants who have registered once and now want to enrol themselves for DU admissions 2020 through ECA quota can also fill the application form within the ECA registration schedule.
