GATE 2027 extended application window without a late fee closes today. Students who have not applied can visit the GOAPS portal to register and apply. The last date to apply with a late fee is October 12, 2026.
GATE 2027 Registration: Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, will close the extended registration window for GATE 2027 today, October 5, 2026. According to the notification, the window for students to register for the GATE 2027 examination was extended until October 5, 2026, as per several requests made by candidates.
Candidates must note that this extended window does not have a late fee applicable. Students can apply for GATE 2027 without a late fee until today. Eligible candidates are advised to register through the link available on the official website at the earliest. As per the dates given, the window for students to apply for GATE 2027 with a late fee will also open today and will be available until October 12, 2026. Candidates unable to complete the application form today and use the extended window and submit a late fee along with the regular application fee.

GATE 2027 Registration: Documents Required
Students applying for GATE 2027 need to have a valid DigiLocker account. All documents are to be uploaded to the DigiLocker account as scanned documents for easy access. The following documents are required.

Candidate’s live photo will be captured during registration time. Hence, use a computer with a webcam or your phone with a minimum of 5 MP front-facing camera.

Good quality image of the candidate’s photograph conforming to the specifications

The same ID, in original, that was verified from DigiLocker MUST be produced while appearing for the GATE 2027 examination at the centre.

Category (SC/ST) certificate, if applicable, in PDF format to be uploaded to DigiLocker. Create a folder named 'GATE2027'. Upload category(SC/ST) certificates as CATEGORY.pdf

Scanned copy of UDID (preferred)/PwD Certificate, if applicable, in PDF format to be uploaded in the 'GATE2027' folder created in DigiLocker. The file should be named UDID_CERT.pdf or PWD_CERT.pdf, respectively.

Scanned copy of Appendix-B1 or Appendix-B2 or Dyslexic Certificate (whichever is applicable), compiled with the PwD certificate as a single PDF document and uploaded in the same drive as PWD_CERT.pdf
