
Haryana Schools, Colleges Closed: With COVID-19 cases continuing to rise across the country and even in the state, the Haryana State Government has decided to close down schools and colleges with immediate effect. As per the latest order, all schools and colleges in the state have been ordered to remain closed for offline or physical classes until 26th January 2022. The decision has been taken by the state government keeping safety and health of the students in mind. During this period, when offline classes have been stopped, all educational institutions have been asked to resume online classes and ensure zero academic loss for the students.

With consistent rise in COVID cases in the state and neighbouring areas, speculations were already rife about the state government ordering closure of schools and colleges. Many neighbouring states including Delhi and Haryana have ordered closure of schools and colleges in varying degrees to ensure safety of the students. Following this and after a through review of the situation in the state, Haryana State Education Minister Kanwar Pal announced the decision about closure of educational institutions. Taking to social media platform twitter, Mr Pal said that In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, the government has decided to keep the schools and colleges of the state closed till 26 January for the safety of the students.
Haryana to Vaccinate 15 to 18 year olds by 10th January
As COVID-19 cases started to surge across the country in the first week of January and identification of few Omicron cases in the state, Haryana State Government had launched an extensive vaccination drive for Children in the state from 2nd January 2022. The state government had set an ambitious target of inoculating all children falling in the age group of 15 to 18 years group by 10th January 2022. On 4th January 2022, CMO Haryana had issued a statement saying "The health department teams will vaccinate children in the age group of 15 to 18 years in schools. The government's effort is to achieve the target of vaccinating all eligible adolescents in the state before January 10.”
