Haryana School Reopening: With COVID-19 cases dipping further, the Haryana State Government has decided to allow reopening of primary and upper primary schools from 10th February 2022. According to the report, Haryana Education Minister, Kanwar Pal has announced that schools in the state can now resume offline classes or physical lectures for Class 1 to 9 students from Thursday – 10th February 2022. While schools have been allowed to resume offline classes, State Government has ordered all administrators to ensure complete compliance with COVID-19 guidelines and SOPs to ensure safe return of students back to campuses.
In a statement issued to ANI news agency, Mr Pal noted that “"We are resuming classes for Standard 1st to 3rd from 20th September. Students need to get written consent from their parents. They will have the option of attending the classes either offline or online.”
Schools to Follow Hybrid System, Online Classes to Continue
While the state government has permitted reopening of schools for primary and upper primary class students, attendance of students has been kept optional. Furthermore, the state government has also ordered schools to operate in hybrid mode with students having the option of either attending offline classes at school or online classes from their homes.
Schools Reopen for Class 9 to 12 Students form 1st February
Earlier, the state government had permitted reopening of schools for senior students i.e., Class 9 to 12 students from 1st February 2022 onwards. At the time of reopening of schools for seniors, State Health Minister Anil Vij had urged eligible students in the age-group of 15 to 18 years age to get inoculated against COVID-19. Furthermore, to promote COVID-19 vaccine adoption among the students, Mr Vij had said that schools will not allow entry to eligible students who have not received COVID-19 vaccine, when schools reopen.
