Madhya Pradesh state government had announced a complete one-day lockdown for a few of the cities in the state including Indore due to the increasing COVID-19 cases on Saturday. The examinations were conducted as per schedule under the guidelines issued by the state and central government and the students from class 8 and MPPSC candidates were allowed to appear for the examinations in Indore.
MP Board class 8 exams
The MP Board class 8 Final examinations and Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) Main Examinations were conducted on March 21, 2021, under the guidelines issued and special buses were arranged by the district administration to assist the students appearing for the exams at the exam centres.
The arrangements were made as per the guidelines issued and were put in place to ensure the safety of the students and the smooth conduct of the exams. The Madhya Pradesh state health department also provided masks and hand sanitizers for the candidates appearing for the examinations and thousands of students appeared for the exams conducted across 13 exam centres in the state.
Complete Lockdown Imposed
Madhya Pradesh state police officials stated that a complete lockdown was imposed from 10 PM on Saturday in Indore until 6 AM today (Monday). A complete lockdown was also announced in Jabalpur, Bhopal, and Indore under further orders being issued considering the rising COVID-19 cases.
As per the state government directive all the decision to close the schools and colleges in the above-mentioned cities until March 31, 2021, was taken after the review meeting conducted by state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Madhya Pradesh has recorded a total of 7,344 active COVID-19 cases in the past week while a total of 43,846 new cases reported in India on Sunday.
