NEET Result 2021 Date Update: As per the media updates, the Supreme Court of India allowed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to announce NEET undergraduate 2021 results. The Bombay high court had ordered NTA to declare the results after holding a re-examination for two students. However, the Supreme Court has stayed the high court's order issued on 20th October. Now as per the order of the apex court, the NEET 2021 Result date is likely to be finalized soon. Earlier, the petition was lined up for a hearing yesterday i.e. 27th October but was adjourned by a day and the apex court and the matter was heard today. The apex court turned-down Bombay HC’s plea, therefore, candidates can expect NEET Result 2021 to be announced in the next 2-3 days.
Also, NTA is ready to rectify whatever has happened with the 2 students. As per the SC Judges, "We’ll keep it on Friday after reopening which is November 12, 2021. We’ll see what we can do for these 2 students. Because of these 2 students, we can’t release the results. The centre is ready to rectify whatever has happened with the students. But please announce the results. There are 16 lakhs students who are eagerly waiting for the results."
NEET Results To Be Declared Soon
The bench comprising Justices L Nageswara Rao, Sanjiv Khanna and BR Gavai issued notice on the special leave petition filed by the National Testing Agency against the High Court's order. However, the bench said that it will see what is to be done for the two students, who were prejudiced due to the mix up of the answer sheets done by the invigilator of the exam hall. The bench however said that let the results be declared and added that it will examine the two students' grievance in detail later.
Why did Bombay HC’s Order Re-exam for Two Students?
Two NEET aspirants, Vaishanavi Bhopali and Abhishek Shivaji, had approached Bombay High Court for relief after it was found that they were handed question papers and answer sheets with different serial numbers. After assessing the case, the court ruled that the High Court ruled directing the apex testing agency to hold re-exam for them, as the mix-up of the answer sheets was done because of administrative negligence on the part of the invigilators and not due to the fault of the candidates. Moreover, the court also ordered that the re-exam for the two candidates should be held before the declaration of NEET 2021 Result which has put the declaration of results for nearly other 16 lakh candidates on hold.
