Punjab State Government will be broadcasting the curriculum of the state-government schools on DD Punjabi Channel. According to a statement issued by the state government, the decision to broadcast the curriculum has been taken to prevent the students from losing class times and missing out on studies due to the lockdown.
Curriculum Telecast Schedule
A schedule for the broadcast has also been provided by the government. As per the schedule, the telecast for the class 9 students will be from 9 AM to 11.15 AM from today - May 19, 2020, onwards. The sessions for the class 10 students will be telecast from 11.15 AM to 1.45 PM and the sessions for the students from class 3, 4 and 5 will be held from 1.45 PM to 2.45 PM.
The Punjab School Education Department has already started the education programme on the DTH platform for the class 7 and 8 class students from April 20, 2020.
Along with this, the Director of Education has also written a letter regarding the same to all the District Education Officers and the school heads.
The school heads will also receive feedback for the programmes telecast for the students on a daily basis and will also ensure that the teachers concerned will also watch the telecast. The teachers will also remain in constant touch with the students and will pass in the time table and schedule of these programmes telecast for the students.
The nationwide lockdown has been further extended by the government until May 31, 2020, pushing academic activities even further. The MHA issued guidelines have specified that schools and colleges will remain closed until May 31, 2020. The dates for the board examinations which were postponed due to the lockdown are yet to be announced for some of the states.
