
According to reports, the Rajasthan state government will be reopening schools for the students of classes 9 to 12 from today - September 1, 2021, onwards. The school reopening has been ordered to follow the detailed Standard Operating Procedures issued by the government. The state education minister Govind Singh Dotasra stated that the education department has also decided to reduce the school curriculum by 30percent and the students will now be evaluated every month.
Syllabus reduced by 30 Percent
He further added that considering the COVID-19 situation classes in schools could not be reopened in the last three months leading to disruptions in studies. Due to this, it was the need of the hour to reduce the curriculum of the students by 30 percent in all the schools in the state.
The state department has also made preparations for a possible third wave of COVID-19 and the department has decided to take tests every month in order to evaluate the students. The results of these tests will be used to evaluate the students whenever the need arises in the future.
Guidelines expected soon for primary school reopening
The state minister also expressed his hope that the COVID guidelines will be issued by the Centre so that the schools can be opened for the younger children. He further added that the state government is in constant touch with the Indian Council of Medical Research and the chief minister has repeatedly discussed the situation with experts and doctors.
Further decisions regarding the schools will be taken after taking into consideration the situation at the time. The minister also stated that the SOPs issued by the department need to be followed and the teachers must be vaccinated with both the dose of vaccines.
