School /College Reopening News: With the advent of 1st February, Schools, Colleges and Educational Institutes in various states are slated to reopen for different classes from today onwards. As per the updates available so far, Schools and Higher Education Institutions are slated to reopen in Punjab, Gujarat, Odisha, AP, Karnataka and Other States from today. However, considering the still serious situation around COVID-19 pandemic, the reopening process and return of students to school and college campuses is being carried out in complete compliance with the Guidelines and SOPs released by the central and state governments.

Punjab School Reopening News
With the steady decline in the number of COVID cases, the Punjab state government has given its permission to reopen Anganwadi centres and pre-primary classes in the state from 1st February 2021 onwards. Earlier the state government had permitted workers and helpers to return back to the schools on 8th December 2020. However, from today onwards, students will also be allowed to return back to Anganwadi centres and resume physical classes.
AP Schools to Reopen for Class 1 to 5 Students
Another state which will be opening its’ school campuses for students of Class 1 to 5 is Andhra Pradesh. According to the official announcement, Schools in the state will reopen from Monday for primary class students. An official statement issued to confirm this development read "Andhra Pradesh government has accorded permission for reopening of Classes 1 to 5 from February 1.” The statement also confirmed that elementary level schools will operate for full-day and school authorities have been instructed to ensure complete compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.
Haryana School Reopening for 6 to 8 Students
Upper Primary School Students in Haryana will return back to their schools after nearly a gap of 10 months today i.e. from 1st February 2021 onwards. The decision to allow reopening of Haryana Schools for Class 6 to 8 students was confirmed via an official order released by the Department of School Education on Friday. As per the order, schools in the state for upper-primary students will reopen from 10 am and 1:30 pm. In order to be allowed to attend regular classes, students would be required to bring a certificate from any health centre or a doctor stating that they do not exhibit any COVID-19 like symptoms. In addition to this, parents’ consent is also mandatory to attend classes.

Gujarat School Reopening Update
Schools in Gujarat will Reopen for Class 9 and 11 students, as per the latest announcement made by the State Government. The decision allowing resumption of regular classes for Class 9 and 11 students from 1st February 2021 onwards was announced by State Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. Schools for Class 9 and 11 students in the state are slated to reopen for regular / in-person classes after a gap of 10 months in February 2021. To ensure social distancing, schools have decided to allow only 15 students in each classroom. Moreover, classes are being held thrice a week only for the initial period. Previously, the state government had allowed schools to reopen for Class 10 and 12 students from 11th January 2021 onwards.
Karnataka To Resume Full-Day Classes
With declining number of COVID-19 cases in Karnataka, the state government has decided to hold full-day classes for students of Classes 9, 10, and students of first and second year Pre-University from today onwards. The decision was taken keeping the keeping in mind the health and educational future of the students, the government said. The state government also consulted the technical advisory committee and considered their recommendations before allowing resumption of full-day classes for the students.
Telangana Schools to Reopen for Class 9 and Above
Telangana State Government has also decide to reopen Schools for Class 9 and above students including for Intermediate and Degree College students from today onwards. As per media reports, the decision to reopen schools and educational institutions from 1st February was taken by Telangana Chief Minsiter K Chandrasekhar Rao. According to a memo issued by the Telangana School Education Department, the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in Telangana will be held from May 17 to 26.
