
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal will be conferred with the Vatayan Lifetime Achievement Award. The ceremony will be conducted on November 21, 2020, in a virtual mode. The award is being conferred to the union education minister of poetry and other literary works.
The minister has earlier been conferred with several awards in the field of literature and administration including the Sahitya Gaurav Samman by Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Sahitya Bharati Award by the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Bharat Gaurav Samman, Outstanding Achievement Award by Global Organization of Person of Indian Origin by Mauritius awarded in Ukraine in the area of environmental protection, Good Governance Award by Dubai Government, “Himal Gaurav Samman" by Nepal.
Published works
His publication including the German version ‘nureinWunsch” of Pokhriyal’s story collection ‘Just a Desire’, has been published at the Afro Asian Institute Hamburg while his 'Sparsh Ganga' initiative has been included in Mauritius school curriculum. The minister has more than 75 books published on issues which have been translated into many national and foreign languages.
The Vatayan International Awards are being conferred by the Vatayan-UK organization in London honouring poets, writers, and artists for their exemplary work in their respective fields.

The Vatayan-UK Samman will be conducted at 8:30 PM on November 21, 2020, with special guests including Amish Tripathi, writer, and director of the Nehru Center, London along with Kavi Anil Sharma Joshi, Vice Chairman Central Hindi Board, Agra, Mira Kaushik, Chairman Vatayan, and Aditi Maheshwari, Executive Director Vani Prakashan.
