West Bengal: As per the updates, in West Bengal, students are demanding for educational institutions to reopen. A protest regarding the same led to scuffling between police and students at Salt Lake, Kolkata. The police did not allow them to organise and protest march. They forcefully removed the students from the spot. This led to the situation turning into a tense one. The demands of the protesting students are - one is to reopen educational institutions, and the other one is to create the scope of admission for all passed out candidates in the next level of education.
West Bengal JEE Round 2 Seat Allotment Result 2021 Declared
Earlier, West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) round 2 seat allotment result 2021. Candidates can check allotted colleges and other details on wbjeeb.nic.in. They can check the WBJEE seat allotment result by using their roll number, password and security pin.
Those selected will have to report at the allotted institute for document verification from 27th August to 2nd September 2021. West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will conduct a mop-up round on 6th to 8th September 2021. The allotment result of the mop-up round will be announced on 11th September 2021.
As per the data released, this year, a total of 64,850 candidates out of 65,170 appeared candidates have become eligible for the counselling process. A total of 65,170 students had appeared for the exam, of which 64,850 (99.5%) students have passed the examination.
WB School Reopening
As per the latest updates, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that the schools will reopen in the state after Puja vacation. However, the decision is tentative and subject to change depending on COVID 19 situation in the state. As per the decision taken in a high-level meeting, schools will reopen on an alternate day. The authority will take a firm decision and reopen the schools. Earlier this month, a high-level meeting was held on West Bengal School reopening. The decision hinted that the state government is thinking to reopen WB schools on alternate days after the puja vacation.
