8th Pay Commission: In a latest update, the government has approved the formation of 8th Pay Commission, which was awaited by many central government employees and pensioners for a long time. Certainly it is a major boost before the Union Budget 2025 to the government employees of the country who were anticipating the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission by the government.
As per reports, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the formation of 8th Central Pay Commission for the benefit of all central government employees and pensioners.
It is noted that during a pre-Budget meeting with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the concerned trade unions have demanded to look into the issue. It is noted that the Union Budget 2025-26 is slated to be presented on February 1, 2025 in the parliament.
As per reports, more one crore central government employees and pensioners across the country were anticipating the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission in the budget 2025.
It is the pay commission which is responsible for revising the salary of all government employees and it also works on salary structure and other adjustments for the same.
Certainly, it's the recommendations of Pay commission of India which directly impact the salary of millions of government employees with other allowance and perks.
The decisions and recommendations initiated by the pay commission create a huge impact on the exchequer i.e. the national treasury of the country also badly and so the government is not in a hurry to announce the same.
Why Demand For 8th Pay Commission
It is noted that the 7th Pay Commission was set up on 28 February 2014 under Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur. The Commission submitted its report on 19 November 2015 and the recommendations came into effect in January 2016.
Now 08 years have passed since the 7th Pay Commission recommendations and now Employee unions have raised demands to constitute the new pay commission to look after their issues and demands.
7th Pay Commission: Salary Hike Date
The 7th Pay Commission was set up on February 28, 2014 under Justice Ashok Kumar Mathur by the UPA government. In the month of July, 2016, the report of the Seventh Pay Commission was submitted to the then Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The Commission submitted its report on 19 November 2015 and the recommendations came into effect in January 2016.
8th Pay Commission DA Hike Likely Date
However, any specific date has not been announced by the government regarding the 8th Pay Commission DA Hike date. If the Finance Minister gives any update for the 8th Pay Commission report in the Budget 2025, it is speculated that it will be implemented in 2026. However there is not any specific date line that has been provided by the government.
As per the reports, the minimum salary for central government employees may increase from Rs.18,000 to around Rs.34,560, if the 8th Pay Commission's recommendations are implemented.
Right now more than one crore central government employees and pensioners across the country were waiting for an update from the Finance Minister. They were eagerly anticipating the establishment of the 8th Pay Commission in the budget 2025.
