AIEEE exam to be held on 11 May

The All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), which was originally scheduled for 1 May, 2011 will now be conducted on 11 May, 2011. The exam was earlier re-scheduled to be conducted on 8 May, 2011 but the dates were changed due to other exams on the same date.

It must be remembered that the exams were postponed on 1 May, 2011 owing to the test paper leak in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh on the night of 30 April 2011. The paper leak came to the notice of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) after which the 9.30 exam for entrance to Bachelors of Engineering (BE) was postponed to 12 pm and exam scheduled for 2pm for Bachelors of Architecture (BArch) was postponed to 4pm.

Since the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) was also scheduled for the same day, candidates who could not appear for AIEEE exam on 1 May, 2011 will now be able to sit for exam on 11 May, 2011. Mentioned below is the category of candidates who can appear for the re-scheduled paper:

• Students who could not sit in exam because the centre could not conduct rescheduled AIEEE exam as it was also the AFMC exam centre.
• Candidates who could not appear in exam due to administrative reasons.
• Students who could not sit in exam because they were to appear for AFMC exam at a different centre.
• Candidates who had applied for Online Mode of Exam but could not appear because of AFMC Exam at different Centres.

The rescheduled examination will now be conducted in 39 cities and the admit cards for the same will be available on CBSE’s  website www.cbse.nic.in from 9 May, 2011.
