Among the course catalogue of Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD), MPhil Programme in Women and Child Development is one such unique programme offered jointly by Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) and the Centre for Women's Development Studies (CWDS). This course is meant for those students who wish to question the silence around gender as this programme is to inculcate a feminist sensibility among students.
The programme incorporate studies through Research projects, Dissertation, Thesis and other resources. The total number of seats in this course is 10 and each student will receive a stipend.
This collaboration supplements the development approach to gender with the interdisciplinary resources at AUD, in particular literature, film, psychology, sociology, history and expressive cultures.
Interestingly, this programme will let selected MPhil students which may perform brilliantly, proceed to doctoral research upon completion of 18 credits of courses of the MPhil programme (without completing an MPhil thesis). The other way to get direct admission for doctoral scholars is through the combined MPhil/PhD programme.
In the programme, special lectures, seminars and workshops will often be seen as a part of curriculum to fortify course work.
