Anna University, Chennai has announced the result of 8th semester B.E./B.Tech Examination 2013 conducted by its various affiliated colleges in the month of April/May. Anna University, Chennai is one of the top universities in India and is a single affiliating university for engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. More than five under operating varsities in different districts have been unified under Anna University, Chennai.
Anna University Chennai comprises four colleges: College of Engineering, Guindy, Alagappa College of Technology, Madras Institute of Technology and the Anna University School of Architecture and Planning.
Anna University, the first technical university in Tamil Nadu established in 1978, was split in 2007 into regional universities located in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi and Tirunelveli, with a view to decentralize administration of technical education and create geographical proximity with affiliated engineering colleges. But, on August 1, 2012, the universities were merged again by the state government.
