In order to provide help and information regarding the organization and register complaint and grievances, the National Council for Teaching Education (NCTE) has initiated a call centre for students as well as teachers.

In a statement that was released just after the launch of the call centre it said, “The centre is aimed to provide a platform to all the stakeholders, i.e. students, teachers and general public to seek any clarification regarding working of the NCTE, application for the recognition of teacher education institutions, teacher education courses and any other issues including any complaints or grievances pertaining to NCTE.”

NCTE is a national autonomous body which functions under the Ministry Of Human Resource Development. It is responsible for development of teacher education in the country and it provides affiliations to institutes offering courses on teacher training or teacher education. It is the primary body to which all the state bodies need to report in case of any problems or grievances. The newly launched call centre would be functional from 9am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. The callers would be able to get through to the call centre through a toll-free number 1800110039. It is expected that this would make registering of complaints easier and redressal of grievances could become systematic.

In case the call centre couldn’t provide the information needed to any particular individual, the caller would then be connected to the four Regional offices of the NCTE which are present in Jaipur, Bangalore, Bhopal and Bhubaneswar.
