Artificial Intelligence (AI) Courses for CBSE Students: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is encouraging modern learning by including Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its curriculum. In the academic year 2024-25, a large number of students have shown interest in AI courses, highlighting its growing popularity.

AI in CBSE Schools
In a recent Lok Sabha session, Gujarat MP Rajeshbhai Chudasama asked about AI courses in CBSE schools. The Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary, shared key details:
- Secondary Level: Around 7,90,999 students from 4,538 schools have opted for AI courses.
- Senior Secondary Level: Nearly 50,343 students from 944 schools are studying AI.
Introduction of AI in CBSE Curriculum
CBSE introduced AI as a subject in 2019 to help students understand and explore its applications.
- Class 8: AI is offered as a basic 15-hour module.
- Classes 9 to 12: AI is taught as a skill subject, giving students practical experience and deeper understanding
CBSE Schools and IT Infrastructure
Highlighting the infrastructure capabilities of CBSE-affiliated schools, the Minister stated that out of 30,373 schools, 29,719 have IT infrastructure as per the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws. This ensures that schools are well-equipped to deliver AI education effectively.
