In this video we will learn about the Subsets, Universal set and Power set.
- The number subsets of a given set can be calculated with the help of the formula: 2n, where n stands for the number of elements that the given site is having.
- The collection of all subsets of a set A is called the power set of A. It is denoted by P (A).
- In P (A), every element is itself a set.
- The power set for the above example would be: P(A) = {{ }, {2, 3}, {2}, {3}}
- Universal set is said to be the parental set of others and all other sets are contained in it. It is denoted by U.
- In other words, we may say that all other set is the subset of the universal set.
