These questions will not only help the students to prepare for exams in a better manner, but will also help them in understanding the depth with which a topic should be studied.

Few sample questions from the Question Paper are given below:

    Q. Define the ‘forbidden zone’ of an insulator.

    Q. Why is molality preferred over molarity in handling the solutions in chemistry?

    Q. (a) Define half life period.

         (b) Derive the relationship between the rate constant and half-life period of a first order reaction.

    Q. Explain the following with reason:

    (a) Schottky defects are not found in alkali metal halides.

    (b) Frenkel defects are not found in alkali metal halides.

    (c) Impurity doped silicon is a semiconductor.

    Q. (a) Briefly explain the terms Specific Conductivity and Equivalent Conductivity. How are the two terms related to each other?

         (b) The conductivity of a 1 M solution of sulphuric acid is 26 × 10−2 ohm−1 cm−1. Calculate its equivalent conductivity. (Given, Atomc weight of sulphur = 32 u)
