Due to acute shortage of higher education and advance course institutions along with growing unemployment in the Valley and Ladakh region, Chancellor of the Central University of Kashmir had said to increase the study avenues and career opportunities by establishing more branches, departments and facilities.
The introduction of various job-oriented courses are also on the cards such like diplomas in automobile repairing and mobile repairing in partnership with local units at Ganderbal . This move is likely to curb the problems of job scarcity in that area as told by Srikumar Banerjee.
Furthermore, in Kashmir valley, Ladakh region or nearby areas, education institutes for higher education are inadequate and so are the number of seats even for the basic sciences and other courses.
Upon this, the chancellor said that the university is working on creating and bringing more facilities for education at advanced level as well launching many new vocational courses, while he also admitted that development of higher education sector cannot be ignored.
