Corporation Bank was established in the year 1904 with an initial capital of Rs 5000.  This bank was nationalized in 1980 and has recorded Rs 1,67,000 Crore mark in business. This bank has about 3500 service outlets across the nation and is served by about 13,000 employees.

Corporation Bank became the second Public Sector Bank in India to come up with an IPO in 1997. It is also the first bank to have started Cash Management Services, Gold Banking, m-Commerce, "Online" approvals for Educational loans and 100% CBS Compliance.

The Bank has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Single Window Operator Clerk to be filled in the year 2011. Mentioned below are the details for the same.

Name of the post: Clerk

Total Number of Vacancies: 1000 seats

Age Limit: 18 years of age (min) and 28 years of age (max) as on 31 March 2011

Eligibility criteria

For recruitment as Clerk in Corporation bank, a candidate should satisfy the following conditions:

(i) a citizen of India,
(ii) a subject of Nepal,
(iii) subject of Bhutan,
(iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India,
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates have been issued to him by the Government of India.

Educational qualification: The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline with 40% or more marks in aggregate from a recognised University or its equivalent qualification. SC/ST/VH/HI/OH/ XS candidates must obtain 35% marks to be eligible for this post.

Computer qualification: Computer literacy is essential for this post.

Important Dates:

a) Opening date for online registration: 4 April 2011
b) Closing date for online registration: 25 April 2011
c) Call letters for Written Test to be downloaded from Bank's website after 30 May 2011
d) Tentative date of Written Test: 12 June 2011

Pay scale: Rs 13500 (Approx.) (Including DA and HRA) (for metro). Other benefits include Conveyance, Medical Aid, LFC and Retirement benefits as per the Bank’s rules.

Application Fee: The fee to be paid by SC/ST/VH/HI/OH/ XS is Rs 50 and for General/ OBC candidate is Rs 200.

How to apply:

1. Application fee including out of pocket expenses should be paid in cash at any of the branches of Corporation bank to A/c no 0377/CA/01/000731.

2. Candidates are required to have a valid active personal e-mail ID and should not change the same during the course of the recruitment process to ensure smooth communication. Communication will be sent to such email ID. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/ mention e-mail ID to/ of any other person.

3. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying online.

4. Applicants are first required to go to the Bank's and click on 'Careers'. Then go to ‘Recruitment of SWO – 2011 – 12’. Read the advertisement carefully and ensure that you are eligible for the post.

5. Take a Printout of the 'FEE PAYMENT CHALLAN' and fill it in a clear and legible handwriting in BLOCK LETTERS. The challan is in duplicate.

6. Go to the nearest Corporation Bank Branch with the Fee payment Challan and pay, in Cash, the requisite Application Fee along with the appropriate commission which is Rs. 10.00 at present. The details of fee to be paid between 08.03.2011 and 08.04.2011 are indicated below. Even if the Bank extends the last date of online registration to avoid rush at the last minute, the valid dates are uniform.

7. Obtain your receipt copy of the Application Fee Payment Receipt duly receipted by the Bank with (a) Branch Name (b) Branch Code Number, (c) Receipt Number (TSL No.), (d) Date of Deposit (e) Amount filled by the Branch Official.

8. Candidates are now ready to Apply Online by re-visiting the Bank's website and going to the sub-link to open up the appropriate Online Application Format.

9. Carefully fill in the details from the Recruitment Application Fee Payment Receipt in the Online Application Form at the appropriate places.

10. Care should be taken by the applicant while filling in information in the Online Application Form. Copy the fee payment details from the Fee Payment Receipt.

11. After filling in the details on the application form candidates are required to submit the application online, once submitted a registration number and password will be generated by the system. Kindly note the same for future use.

12. Take a printout of the system generated application form immediately. The printout of the Application form must not be sent to the Bank.

13. Candidates should keep Xerox copy of the application printout and original fee payment challan for their record.

14. Original fee payment challan will have to be submitted along with the Call Letter at the time of written test/interview. Without the Original fee payment challan the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the written test/interview.

Selection procedure: All the eligible candidates have to appear in Entrance Exam conducted by the Bank.

1.The written examination will comprise of Objective and Descriptive questions:

a) Test of Reasoning Ability and Numerical Aptitude (100 questions of 160 marks)
b) Test of Clerical Aptitude (40 questions of 40 marks)
c) Test of English Language (40 questions of 40 marks)
d) Test of General Knowledge (20 questions of 20 marks)

2. Candidates have to pass in each of the Objective test separately.

3. Passing marks for written test is 40% (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)

4. Depending upon the number of vacancies, only those candidates who rank sufficiently high in the objective test will be called for interview.

5. Minimum qualifying marks in interview is 40% (35% in case of SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates)

6. Final selection will be on the basis of merit ranking after adding the marks obtained in the objective test and interview.

7. The detailed information regarding written examination will be available in the bank’s website under ‘Acquaint Yourself’ and may be downloaded.

8. Those who are eligible for interview will be subjected to Computer Literacy Test.

9. Those selected for interview, will be intimated venue, date and time by e-mail only and no separate communication by post will be sent.

Exam Centres: Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai.

Exemption for SC/ST candidates: 5 years

Scribe/Paper Writer: Candidates who are blind/ low vision or locomotor impaired in both hands and both arms can use own scribe at their cost during the written examination.

a) The scribe should possess fewer marks than the candidate appearing at the written examination and not more than 60% marks in his/ her own academic stream.
b) The scribe should not be a graduate of any stream but can be of any academic stream.
c) Both the candidate and the scribe will have to give a suitable undertaking, confirming that the scribe fulfils all the stipulated eligibility criteria for a scribe as mentioned above. In case it later transpires that he/ she did not fulfil any of the laid down eligible criteria or suppressed the material facts, the candidature of the candidate will stand cancelled, irrespective of the result of the written examination.
d) Such candidates who use a scribe shall be eligible for extra time of 20 minutes for every hour of the examination.
