    Q1. In order to promote transportation of automobiles through coastal shipping, Ministry of Shipping has decided that all Major Ports will provide discount for coastal transportation of vehicles through Ro-Ro Ships. Consider the following statements regarding RO-RO ships?

    The Ministry of Shipping recently decided that all Major Ports will provide discount of 80 per cent for two years on Vessel Related Charges (VRC) & Coastal Related Charges (CRC) for “Ro-Ro” ships.
    Ro-Ro is an acronym for Roll-on/roll-off. Roll-on/roll-off ships are vessels that are used to carry wheeled cargo. The ro-ro ship is different from lo-lo (lift on-lift off) ship that uses a crane to load the cargo. The vehicles in the ship are loaded and unloaded by means of built-in ramps. Normally these ramps are made towards the stern (backside) of the ship. In some ships, they are also found on the bow side (front) as well as the sides. The vessel can be of both military and civilian types.

Mercosur and the Andean Community of Nations are customs unions that are components of a continuing process of South American integration connected to the Union of South American Nations.

    SCATSAT-1 is a continuity mission for Oceansat-2 Scatterometer to provide wind vector data products for weather forecasting, cyclone detection and tracking services to the users. The satellite carries Ku-band Scatterometer similar to the one flown onboard Oceansat-2.  The spacecraft is built around standard IMS-2 Bus and the mass of the spacecraft is 371 kg. The spacecraft will be put in SSP orbit with an inclination of 98.1 deg by PSLV-C35. The mission life of the satellite is 5 years.
