    1. Recently, two Prithvi-II missiles were successfully test-fired from the launch complex-III of the Integrated Test Range. Consider the following characteristic of Prithvi II:

    1) Prithvi-II is a short-range surface-to-air missile.
    2) Prithvi II is the first missile to be developed by DRDO under IGMDP (Integrated Guided Missile Development Program).

    Explanation:

    Prithvi II is a tactical surface-to-surface short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) developed by DRDO of India under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP). It is deployed by India's Strategic Forces Command. Prithvi is India’s first indigenously-built ballistic missile.

    The twin-engine Prithvi-II has the ability to dodge enemy missiles and has been designed to operate with both liquid and solid fuels and is capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear payloads. Prithvi II class is also a single-stage liquid-fueled missile having a maximum warhead mounting capability of 500 kg, but with an extended range of 250 km.     2. SEBI has liberalized norms for angel funds to invest in entities to facilitate fund-raising for start-ups. Consider the following statements regarding the angel investors:

    1) The upper limit for number of angel investors in a scheme from forty nine to two hundred.

    The Securities and Exchange Board of India has liberalized norms for angel funds to invest in early-stage entities as part of its attempts to facilitate fund-raising for start-ups. The capital markets regulator also enhanced the scope of investment of foreign investors in unlisted debt securities.

    • The regulatory agency has also permitted foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) to invest in unlisted non-convertible debentures and securitized debt instruments of a public or private company based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Earlier, FIIs were allowed to invest in such securities only if it was issued by a company from the infrastructure sector.
    • An agreement between company management personnel and shareholders that assure certain compensation or share in profits to the employee was also placed in action.

    • The programme targets the poor households and uses ICT and space technology to further confirm correct selection of beneficiaries and progress of work.
