Different types of professors we encounter in college

Teachers are the pillars of any educational institution and make it what it is with their hard work, or, well, the lack of it. As you enter college, you will realize that the teachers and their attitude is different from what it was in school. They are more chilled out and let you be. However, some can give you a tough time by being adamant about what they want from you as a student. Here are a few types of teachers you will meet  in college.

1. The Hitler
These are the teachers who always mean business and if you are unable to do the given assignment before the due date, they can go to the extent of not accepting it at all. Students are always on time for their classes and if in case they are late, they know that never is better than late in this case. They become an important part of all Whatsapp group discussions and are the ones you can't wait to not see next semester. These teachers make even the most interesting subjects a bumpy and uncomfortable ride with their rude comments and ruder behaviour.

2. The best friend
You never knew that teachers could be so cool. You can talk to them about literally anything and they will not only be all ears, but also provide valuable inputs. They also become part of Whatsapp discussions but for whole different set of reasons. You will see that they are lenient when it comes to submission dates, accepting them much beyond the submission date. They will be as excited about your weekend as you are and help you plan things out. All in all, these are the people who will make college a fun place and hence you will look forward to their classes.

3. The school teacher
They think you are still a school student and give you assignments, surprise tests and projects like you got before college. There will throw tantrums when you ask for permission to take leave for an extracurricular activity and this will make you want to explain them the difference between school and college. They value discipline more than anything else and expect the same from you.

4. The chilled out teacher
They couldn't care less about what you are doing. You can come to their class 30 minutes late and they will still allow you in and give attendance. These are quite the mechanical ones who just want to get there job done and get going after that. While it might be a relief to attend their classes after the overactive ones', you might feel annoyed that they are so indifferent. Attendance will never be an issue with them because they are so liberal and basically carefree.

5. The rebel
This is the teacher who starts bitching about the principal as soon as they turn their backs. They don't believe in following the rules and are very popular among the students for this quality. They can often be spotted preaching about the value of life and that there is a world beyond textbooks and numbers on the marksheet.

6. The over achiever

This teacher is what your parents want you to be. They have three different degrees in three different subjects and have a knowledge about a wide range of topics. Even at college, they are the first one to do everything. They reach for the meetings early, do the tasks assigned to them, come up with ideas and are basically super productive at work. There is a lot that you can learn from such teachers and you most definitely should.

7. The latecomer

So you thought only students can come late to the classes? These teachers challenge this stereotype. Most of the times, students reach the class long before they do and have to wait for them to come. Things get annoying when they start the class late and end it late, eating up the valuable time which could have been spent in the canteen.

The list can go and on, with the categories of teacher not ending at any point. College professors are fun for most part but can also be a pain if they are too committed to their job. In either case, it will be a good experience to be taught by them.
