Q: I belong to SC category and want to apply for the forthcoming UGC NET to be held in June 2013. Please brief me about the fee and how the payment can be made.

A: As you belong to SC category, the application fee is Rs 110 for UGC NET June 2013. The fee required to be paid by the candidates of other categories is mentioned below:

  • General Candidates: Rs 450
  • Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer): Rs 225
  • SC / ST / PWD candidates: Rs 110

The fee must be paid through bank challan. The bank challan is available on the website of UGC NET. You are required to take print out of that and fill in triplicate (Bank Copy, UGC Copy & Candidate’s Copy).

The next step is to submit these copies in any branch of State Bank of India along with the bank charges (commission) of Rs 20. The bank copy will retain its copy and the other two copies will be returned to you.

The last step is to attach the UGC copy of the challan with the hard copy of online Application Form which you have to submit to the Registrar / Principal of UGC- NET Coordinating University / College chosen by you.
