First convocation organized by(The Institute of Company Secretaries of India) ICSI on 24 Nov 12

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) organized its first convocation on 24 November 2012 to award the certificate to newly qualified ICSI members and medals to meritorious students pursuing the company secretary ship course. The certificates to the students were given by Dr Ashok Kumar Chauhan Founder President, ritnand  balved education foundation (amity education group), who was the Chief Guest at the convocation programme of ICSI on Saturday at Hotel Le Meridian, Janpath, New Delhi.

In the convocation addressing, Dr. Ashok extended Company Secretary (CS) is a professional who can transform the world. As per Dr. Chauhan the CS is a torch bearer in protection of interest if shareholder and stakeholder of the corporate, industry, entrepreneur and public at large. He advised newly admitted members to think beyond the boundaries and emphasized that to reach the pinnacle of success, they need to enhance their capabilities and work tirelessly for the growth of profession and the country.

While addressing the students Rajiv Bajaj, Chairman, ICSI advised the young professionals to consistently develop their physical, emotional, psychological and mental levels. There should be pride in successes and a need to be conscious of challenges ahead said Bajaj.

President ICSI, Nesar Ahmad in his address congratulated the newly admitted members, meritorious students of the CS Course, their parents and teachers. He spoke about the importance of continuous learning and advised all young professionals to have a craving for learning with application of knowledge towards professional success in tandem with societal expectations.

S N Ananthasubrmanian, Vice President, the ICSI while addressing said that young company secretaries are looked upon as effective transformers of the profession by learning from, listening about, experiencing from and foreseeing the changing environment. Young Company Secretaries must offer value added services and re-engineer themselves to exceed the expectations of stakeholders said Ananthasubrmanian.

Secretary and CEO ICSI, N.K Jain advised the young professionals to keep pace with the increased technological advancements, respond to the speed of change and innovation, meet with rising quality standards, and satisfy accelerated demands and above all to perform, exceeding the expectations. While making concluding remarks about technological advancements, innovation and rising quality standards. He proposed a vote of thanks, congratulated all the newly admitted members and meritorious students. At the end, all newly qualified members of the Institute of Company Secretary took oath.
