In China, Centres of Excellence (CoE) will be established by Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and Electrotherm's Indus University.
Both universities will independently yet in partnership with Indo-China Economic Council (ICEC) is to sign a MoU with SIAS International University, which happens to be the foremost American University set up in China.
While Gujarat Technological University will set up a Centre of Excellence for Engineering, Electrotherm's Indus University is to open a CoE for Innovation at SIAS University.
The MoU for education will include provisions of exchange study for two years, in both China and Gujarat, inviting students mutually from both the universities.
Other features the MoU shall propose would be exchange of faculty mainly to teach language Chinese to Indian students, partnership for the innovation centre, collaborated research, and meeting for education and technical assistance for research and exchange of resources and materials, documents and other important information.
A K Aggarwal, vice Chancellor of the GTU informed that in Gujarat the MoU will be signed for which already talks have been made with the Chinese government.
The CoE is to commence from the next year’s academic session.
Earlier also, GTU made effort and sent its students to countries including Canada, US and Germany for exchange purpose.
SIAS is expected to let them borrow space as well as professional support by lending them office space and services, infrastructure, business planning support and technology.
SIAS will also help Gujarat Universities about the prevailing guiding principles and policies associated with start up funds, revenues, monetary support, and talent.
