Qualification
For a bachelor degree in hospital management candidates should have passed 10+2 exam with Biology and be able to score minimum 50 per cent marks but some of the institutions provide opportunity of a group discussion and interview for admission. Graduates can do an MBA or a diploma course in the hospital management. English language skills, communication skills, knowledge of computers and management skills are tested at the time of selection.
Personal Qualification
A hospital manager should have knowledge of financial information and data interpretation subjects and be able to coordinate amongst various departments and the patients.

A junior hospital manager earns from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000 per month. An experienced and trained hospital manager can earn more than Rs. 40,000 per month. Hospital managers are in high demand overseas. The remuneration increases with time and experience.
Course
Students can opt for bachelor of hospital management, post graduate diploma in hospital management, master of hospital administration and MBA courses. Some institutes offer short term, certificate and diploma courses in hospital management.
Bachelor of hospital administration is three year course and MBA and Masters in hospital administration can be attained in two years and divided in to four semesters of six month each. Post graduate professional programme in hospital management (PGPHM) is a 11-month course.
