Banking sector has invited many aspiring candidates from all over the country since the last five to six years. There is a sizable amount of vacancies that is being generated each year in the country. How to get banking job after passing 12th from Commerce stream?
It is a misunderstanding that studying in commerce would help candidates getting into banking sector, as any student who has passed class 12th with any stream could apply for clerical/accounting level bank jobs. Though, most of the clerical cadre posts and probationary officer posts are saved for Graduate candidates. Candidates who are willing to join banking as career option need to complete their Graduation in any stream from any recognized university/institute to apply for examinations conducted by Indian Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which recruits banking candidates for 19 nationalized banks over India.
Having commerce stream in both class 12th and Graduation level helps the candidates learning about accounts, banking terms and related items such as loans, interest, rate of interest, repo rates etc. Having information about these helps in getting through with the paper in the written examination related to banking terms and terminology.
