How to Join Banking Sector after Passing Class 12th Examination?

Banking sector has invited many aspiring candidates from all over the country since the last five to six years. There is a sizable amount of vacancies that is being generated each year in the country. Due to the good salary package, job security, other supplementary benefits along with wide scope of future growth in the same field, more and more candidates are eying for these jobs every year. Students after completing their 12th class and Graduation are focusing to get into the banking sector due to its promise of a good career. With increased number of jobs in the nationalized banks around the country the aspiring candidates trying their best to get through to the banking sector by taking guidance and preparatory classes from agencies.

Though there is no way that class 12th passed candidates sit for examinations conducted by IBPS for various probationary officer or clerical cadre posts in various nationalized banks as it has made it mandatory for the candidates to at least be Graduate to apply. A few years back candidates who have passed 12th examination could have applied for clerical cadre post, but it is now restricted and could be applied only by Graduate candidates due to huge number of applications.

But there are other clerical and office jobs in nationalized banks for which class 12th passed candidates can apply. Those candidates who have minimum computer knowledge and have 12th class passed could apply for the posts in response to appropriate job vacancies. This too can be a prospective career option as the candidates can further climb up the ranks and end up reaching senior positions with the amount of experience and expertise that they gather from it. Data Entry and Accounting related jobs are some other areas where candidates can join banks after passing class 12th examination.

How to get banking job after passing 12th from Commerce stream?

It is a misunderstanding that studying in commerce would help candidates getting into banking sector, as any student who has passed class 12th with any stream could apply for clerical/accounting level bank jobs. Though, most of the clerical cadre posts and probationary officer posts are saved for Graduate candidates. Candidates who are willing to join banking as career option need to complete their Graduation in any stream from any recognized university/institute to apply for examinations conducted by Indian Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which recruits banking candidates for 19 nationalized banks over India.

Having commerce stream in both class 12th and Graduation level helps the candidates learning about accounts, banking terms and related items such as loans, interest, rate of interest, repo rates etc. Having information about these helps in getting through with the paper in the written examination related to banking terms and terminology.
