IAS Prelims 2014: Why Data Interpretation is Important

    Data Interpretation is an indispensible part of the IAS Prelims General Studies Paper II since its inception. The Data Interpretation is another way to objectively analyse the comprehending power of the candidates mind. The evolving trend of the IAS Prelims Exam shows that General Studies Paper I is also becoming analytical exam by exam. The background knowledge as well as the foreground analysis of the implications is necessary to anticipate.


    Like the Comprehensions, Data interpretation is also a component of CSAT to analyse the comprehending capabilities of the candidates. Data Interpretation checks the anticipation power which can correlate with the given data and the evolving trend of the data. The data interpretation also helps in actualization of the current situation so that our anticipation remain realistic and near to the reality.

    In planning data Interpretation plays a crucial role hence it remains as an indispensible part of the IAS Prelims Syllabus. Data interpretation also helps in deducing the trends in real life also. The entire targets Projections as well as the new targets build ups are based on the data interpretations.

    Also Data Interpretation has a important section in the CSAT Paper of IAS Prelims because good number of question had been asked in the previous year Question Papers of IAS Prelims. Around 7 questions were asked in the IAS Prelims 2013. Seven Questions can make big difference in the selection of the candidates.  So the candidates can not overlook the importance of the Data Interpretation for the IAS Preliminary Exam.
