IBPS Specialist Officers Exam 2016: Selection Procedure

IBPS has recently taken out an advertisement offering candidates to apply for various Specialist Officer (SO) Posts in various nationalised banks and participatory organisation. The written examination would be of 200 marks for all the posts and would provide 120 minutes to the candidates.

IBPS has recently taken out an advertisement offering candidates to apply for various Specialist Officer (SO) Posts in various nationalised banks and participatory organisation. The online examination is tentatively scheduled in January 2016. Candidates can apply online only from 23.11.2015 to 10.12.2015 and no other mode of application will be accepted.

Selection Procedure

Like all other IBPS conducted examinations this examination would also not be any exception. The overall procedure would be carried up in three steps involving, written examinations, personal interview or group discussion and provisional allotment of the candidates after medical examination. The written examination would be of 200 marks for all the posts and would provide 120 minutes to the candidates. Those candidates who are applying for the posts of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari would have to face a paper on General Awareness with special reference to banking industry. On the other hand those who are applying for Agricultural Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer Posts would have to face a paper on Quantitative Aptitude. The other papers would be Reasoning, English Language and Professional Knowledge test that would remain same for all of the posts carrying same amount of marks. The candidates would get the questions in English and Hindi language and answer according to their choice. The wrong evaluation of the questions would account to negative marking.

Interview

Upon successfully scoring the cut off marks in the written tests the candidates would be called for personal interview by the participatory organizations through IBPS. The marks allotted for the interview would be 100 and the minimum qualifying marks for interview is set to be 40% (35% for SC/ST/PWD candidates). The weight age of CWE and interview would be 80:20 and those who would successfully clear both the tests would have to undergo a medical test for final selection.

A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent allotment process, details of which will be available subsequently on IBPS website

All the documents of the candidates would get checked during the interview process and upon successfully passing the medical test the candidates would be provided their provisional allotment to various nationalized banks according to their demands.
