IIM Indore has recently announced that it will be considering common admission test (CAT) scores even in the final stage of admission process, something which it has practiced for the past three years. Before 2013, IIM Indore used to give 20 per cent weightage to CAT score in the very first round and last round of three-stage admission process. But after 2013, the institute stopped the practice of considering CAT score in the final round of the selection process.
As per the admission policy of IIM Indore, it gives weightage to CAT score only in the initial stage of admission process. But unlike the previous years, from this year onwards the institute will again start following their old process of admission which states that they will give 20 percent weightage to CAT score in the first and final stages of admission process.
Apart from this policy, it has also been mentioned that only a high CAT score won’t be able to fetch a call from this top MBA b-school of India. Other criteria will also be responsible for grabbing a seat in the Institute. IIM Indore will allot 76 per cent weightage to class 10 and 12 marks and 4 per cent weightage to female candidates while shortlisting candidates for written ability test (WAT) and personal interview (PI), which is the second stage of admission process. In the final stage of selection, highest weightage will be allotted to the performance in the PI round (i.e. 40 per cent); other aspects would be allotted less weightage.
IT should also be noted that IIM Indore has an approved intake of 452 students for their PGDM Batch 2017-19. In addition, there is no special privilege provided for the candidates coming from non-engineering background.
