    Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli which is popularly known as IIM Trichy is the 11th IIM in the country that started its operations in the year 2011. Since then it has been running flagship programme PGPM for the management aspirants. Built on the land area of 175 acres, the campus nestles all the state-of-the-art facilities that creates conducive environment of learning for the aspirants. The campus of IIM-Trichy is located at Trichy-Pudukkottai road near Chinna Suriyur village. The institute has accommodation facility for 400 people which includes students, staff and teachers. In IIM Trichy special focus has been laid to ensure optimal student-teacher ratio to encourage better learning experience for the candidates.

    Programmes Offered at IIM Tiruchirappalli

    IIM Tiruchirappalli or IIM Trichy offers two-year full-time Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) course which is its flagship programme.  The primary objective of this course is to develop them into competitive professional capable of working in leadership roles. The PGPM course exposes the students to different facets of business management. Students are required to undertake Summer Internship Programme and as a part of the curriculum. The institute also has an international student exchange programme. The PGPM course in management is equivalent to a Master’s Degree of an Indian University for the purpose of admission to higher studies, Association of Indian Universities.

    IIM Tiruchirappalli: Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria

    Candidates aspiring to seek admission the PGPM course of IIM Trichy must fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

    • A candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. In case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45% marks or equivalent CGPA.
    • Candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Tiruchirappalli Admission 2019-21.
    • It is mandatory for the candidate to appear in CAT 2018 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall score to be considered for shortlisting.

    IIM Tiruchirappalli PGDM 2019-21: Admission Process

    To get admission in the PGP programme of IIM Trichy, aspirants can follow the steps mentioned below:

    Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2018 to be considered for Shortlisting process for the PGPM course at IIM Trichy.

    Step 2: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) round on the basis of performance in the CAT 2018 exam along with the score gained in other parameters.

    Step 3: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend Common Admission Process (CAP) 2019 for the participating IIMs. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in PI & WAT will not be considered in the final selection round.

    Step 4: After the WAT & PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Trichy to successful candidates. The final selection is based on composite score based on the performance in CAT 2018 exam, WAT & PI round, academics, work experience, gender diversity among others. 

    Step 5: In the last week of April 2019 ‘Final Admission Offer’ will be made to the candidates on the basis of Final Merit Score for admission in IIM Tiruchirappalli.

     

    IIM Tiruchirappalli PGDM 2019-21: Admission shortlisting Criteria

    IIM Tiruchirappalli uses the percentile of CAT exam for shortlisting candidates for PI & WAT round. The table below indicates the minimum performance expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI & WAT. Please note that achieving the cut-off percentile in CAT is a necessary but not sufficient condition for being shortlisted. 

    It must be noted that the cut-off percentiles given above are indicative. The actual cut-off percentiles for the 2018-20 batch may vary from those mentioned. IIM Tiruchirappalli will decide the number of candidates to be called for the PI & WAT for each of the above categories, depending on which the cut off percentiles can change.

    IIM Tiruchirappalli PGPM 2019-21: Admission Cut-off

    An important aspect for admission to PGPM 2019-21 programme is the CAT 2018 exam cut-off which indicates the minimum performance expected from candidates to be shortlisted for the PI & WAT round. The decision to decide the minimum CAT cut-off rests with the admission committee of the institute and hence, the number of candidates to be called for the PI & WAT for each category depends upon this factor majorly.

    IIM Tiruchirappalli PGDM 2019-21: Final Admission Selection Criteria

    All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in PI-WAT round for admission to IIM Tiruchippalli. After the Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT) is conducted at selected centers which are generally New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Kolkata, aspirants are allotted scores on other parameters such as Academic Profile, Work Experience, Gender Diversity among others.   

    IIM Trichy selection criteria after final admission round award 50% weight to CAT 2018  Score; 14% weight to Personal Interview(PI); 14% weight to Writing Ability Test (WAT); 10% Weight to Academic profile; 5% Weight to Work Experience; 5% weight to Gender Diversity and 2% Weight to professional Qualification.

    IIM Tiruchirappalli: Programme Fees

     The total programme fees for the PGPM course for the Residents of Indian Category at IIM Tiruchirappalli stands at Rs. 13,00,000/-. Students enrolled in the PGPM (2018-21) batch were expected to pay 13lakhs. However, for the upcoming PGPM batch, candidates can expect a hike in the fee.
