Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon has opened its admission and application process for the two years full-time PGDM programme for 2019-21 batch. As per the admission criteria, the candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of CAT 2018 scores. In addition, there are other parameters such as educational qualifications, work experience which will play a major role in final shortlisting to the PGDM course. MDI Gurgaon offers three major management programs at its campus namely PGPM, human resource management, and international management. The management programs at MDI aim to lay a strong foundation for both conceptual and practical understanding of the managerial concepts. Programmes offered by MDI Gurgaon are as under:
Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM)
The Post Graduate Programme in Management aims to help students build and enhance their managerial competence. The course is spread across 6 terms of 3 months each. It also includes a to 8-10 week summer internship program which is a compulsory component of the equipment. The programs allow students to take courses in general management, finance, accounting, marketing, operations management, organizational management, and strategic management.
Post Graduate Programme in Human Resources (PGP-HR)
The programme focuses on preparing candidates for the careers in the field of Human Resources. Some of the major subjects covered in this programme are employee relations, human resource management systems and practices, legal framework, industrial relations, and interpersonal and leadership skills. The programme is designed to help students become well-rounded business managers rather than HR managers per se.
Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGP-IM)
The Post Graduate Programme in International Management (PGP-IM) was first launched by MDI Gurgaon in the year 2006. The programme was first of its kind in India and aimed at preparing future managers and leaders with a global mindset and ability to work in global markets. The programme was launched as a dual degree program in collaboration with the European school of management ESCP - Europe. The first phase of the programme is delivered on MDI Campus, at Gurgaon. The second phase of the programme is delivered in Europe at the Paris, Berlin, Madrid & Torino campuses (English Track). Students will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGP-IM) from MDI Gurgaon and MIM (Masters in Management) from ESCP Europe upon successful completion of the programme requirements.
MDI Programme-wise Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for the different management programs offered at MDI Gurgaon differs based on the course duration, target group, and the course curriculum. MDI PGDM 2019-21 Admission Process
Candidates aspiring to take admission in the MDI PGDM 2019-21 can apply online by filling in the online application form on the official website. Candidates can refer to the below given steps for the MDI PGDM 2019-21 admission process.
Step 1: Candidates must apply and appear for the CAT 2018. They must also score the minimum required percentile or cut-off.
Step 2: Candidates must register and apply for admission to MDI Gurgaon on or before November 23, 2018.
Step 3: Candidates who have appeared for the CAT (2018) will be short listed on the basis of the details filled in the MDI application form and their CAT scores.
Step 4: Shortlisted candidates would need to login to the MDI website and enter their order of programme preference for PGPM/PGP-IM/PGP-HRM in the month of January/ February 2019. Preferences once filled will not be changed at any stage later on.
Step 5: After the GD-PI round, final admission offers will be made to successful candidates in April 2019.
XLRI Admission Shortlisting Criteria
A candidate will be shortlisted by MDI Gurgaon on the basis of the details filled in the application form and their CAT 2018 scores. Only the short listed candidates will then be called for Group Discussion, Written Test and Personal Interviews during February and March 2019 at one of the centres, viz. Bangalore, Gurgaon, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai (centres other than Gurgaon are tentative).
Final Admission Selection Round Criteria
All the shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in the final selection round MDI Gurgaon Admission Process. The final selection round will include Group Discussion, Written Test and Personal Interview. MDI Gurgaon awards 55% weight to CAT exam score in the overall selection process and rest to the other components like Personal Interview(PI), Group Discussion (GD), Writing Ability Test (WAT), Academics, Work Experience among others. Final Admission offer will be based on all the above parameters in final selection round at MDI Gurgaon.
MDI Gurgaon Admission Cut-off
MDI Gurgaon does not declare the admission cutoff scores. However, going by the past trends MDI Gurgaon may have cut offs between 93 and 95 percentile in CAT 2018. Along with the CAT Exam score cut offs, MDI Gurgaon considers Academic score cut offs; Final Selection Round GD-PI-WAT cut offs and the points awarded for work experience.
